SUMMARY:Gilberts Dahlias
DESCRIPTION:We are organising another outing which will be in the autumn – on Tuesday 22nd September 2026 to Gilberts “Dahlia” Nursery\, a renowned dahlia specialist in Sherfield English near Romsey\, SO51 6DT. This is a family run dahlia farm and plant nursery\, the owner\, grower and dahlia enthusiast Nick Gilbert will give us a tour and a talk about Dahlias; with lots of advice on growing them successfully. They have over 400 varieties. \nIn addition\, they have a lovely nursery where they grow a good majority of the plants themselves which will be available to buy on the day. https://www.gilbertsdahlias.co.uk/dahlia-tubers \nThe visit will start promptly at 1030 so please allow time for travel\, parking etc. it is approximately just under an hour to drive from south Hayling. We will also have lunch at 1200 in their cafe\, where they provide delicious homemade food and drink. For this outing they have asked us to make our lunch choice in advance. \nLunch Choices are:\n1. Homemade Soup of the Day\, served with either white or granary bread (gluten free available) or a Homemade Cheese Scone – £7.75\n2. Jacket Potato filled with one of the following fillings and served with salad – £10.50 \n\nCheddar Cheese\nBaked Beans and Cheddar Cheese or just Baked Beans\nCheddar Cheese and Bacon\nBacon and Mushroom\nEgg Mayonnaise and Cress\nTuna Mayonnaise or Tuna Melt\n\n3. Homemade Quiche of the Day\, served with new potatoes and salad – £11.95 \nIf anyone is gluten free or has any allergies please let me know.\nThe cost for the talk and tour is £3.00 per person\, plus the cost of your lunch choice. I need to know your lunch choice and full payment will be required on booking. However\, I wont know the flavour of soup or quiche until nearer the date. If anyone is able to offer a spare seat or two in their car\, please let me know and I will try to assist with allocating places in cars to anyone who would like to come\, but prefers not to or cannot drive. Through his engaging “British Flowers Rock” talks\, he inspires the general public to appreciate and embrace homegrown blooms. He will bring plants and bunches of flowers (£3) for us to purchase. He runs a nursery in Walberton growing the flowers he loves. Ben is very conscious of the environment and his nursery reflects this- he will tell us all about it.

SUMMARY:Longleat Winter Safari and Festival of Light
DESCRIPTION:An exciting full day out!! Our coach will visit the Winter Safari – where you will see wolves\, tigers\, lions and many other species. The Safari lasts 2 hours with time after for you to enjoy your packed lunch or visit the onsite food and drink outlets in the main square. \nAround 4pm we will visit the festival of light Christmas experience\, filled with unique lanterns\, dazzling light shows and magical trails.
