Street Trees on Hayling

Guide to Street Trees on Hayling Island– Spring 2021

Have you noticed a new tree on the side of the road where you live, work or travel?

Not surprising, as Hampshire County Council Arboriculturists have been busy fulfilling the Council’s pledge to plant a million trees by 2050.

Hayling Island was first in Hampshire’s 2020/21 seasonal planting programme -giving our new trees the ideal start last September.

Over 24 different species have been carefully selected.  A full list is available on the website or open a copy of The Hayling Trader March/April for a pull-out supplement from the centre pages.

Also available is a list of streets in which new trees have been planted over the last 4 years.  Take a copy with you as you travel around the Island in Spring and imagine how streets will look in 5 years.

Meanwhile ….. if you have a location in mind for a new tree for 2021 contact:
