Our late-summer coach outing will be a visit to the RHS Wisley Flower Show where you can experience this floral celebration with spectacular displays, specialist nurseries, inspirational expert talks and the chance to buy from a choice of exhibitors.
The cost is:
£23 for those who are both RHS members and HIHS members (covers the cost of coach travel)
£38 for HIHS members (covering coach and RHS entry fee)
If you are not yet a HIHS member, you can join for £7. Please ask for a membership form.
You will have the day to explore the colourful stands and shop for a wide range of plants. The knowledgeable growers will be on hand to answer your questions and help you choose the perfect plant for you. There will be plenty of inspiring talks and demonstrations at the Hilltop Live theatre.
The National Dahlia Society have a marquee where there will be some of the many forms and colours of dahlias, with more than 100 competition classes to see. For those interested in flower arrangements, The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) have an extraordinary floral art display competition.
And of course there is the magnificent Wisley Gardens spanning 240 acres. Don’t miss the Orchid House home to over 3000 orchids that have been collected since the 1980s. Or the cathedral-like Glasshouse home to the Society’s world-class tender plant collection, it features three climatic zones to explore.
For more inspiration and shopping opportunities you can go into the RHS Wisley Garden Centre. Discover expertly curated collections of houseplants, shrubs, plants, tools and gardening accessories, as well as inspiring gifts, sustainable homewares, fragrances, great reads and more.
There are many Restaurants and Cafés where you can treat yourself to delicious food made from fresh, seasonal produce. The gardens are accessible and there is a recommended wheelchair route through the garden available from the entrance.
