Wreath Workshop – How to make your wreath.
To Make a Rustic Ivy Wreath Base
For those of you that are interested in the wreath making workshop we are recommending that you make your wreath base to bring with you. Ivy can be found on large trees or on walls or just in your garden.
If it is made within the next 6-8 weeks, when the stems are soft, it will be perfect for the workshop in December! Full instructions are given below.

- To make the wreath you need a supply of long pieces of ivy that are pliable and “strappy” and long enough to be formed into a circle of your desired size.
2. Strip the leaves from the ivy.
3. Make a circle with a long piece, joining and twisting any extra length into the circle. Hold the end in place with a peg.
4. Take another piece, tuck the end in between the two pieces and then weave it in and out around the circle, tucking the end between the original pieces and holding it with a peg.
The wreath can be as thick or thin as desired but about eight long pieces are needed to make a sturdy base.
5. Once you are happy with the thickness of your wreath and all ends are secure, the pegs can be removed.
6. Leave your base somewhere dark and cool to harden so it will be ready to decorate in December.
